The Director will work with the One San Pedro Collaborative to transform the existing Rancho San Pedro public housing development into a vibrant, sustainable, mixed-income, mixed-use community.

One San Pedro is an effort to transform the existing Rancho San Pedro (21-acre) public housing project, owned by the Housing Authority for the City of Los Angeles (HACLA), into a master-planned community and create a vibrant and sustainable mixed-used and mixed-income urban village. The redeveloped Rancho San Pedro will include new affordable and market rate housing, much needed neighborhood-serving retail, parks, a community center and other community amenities. This new vision promises to serve as a catalyst for the economic and social enhancement of the greater San Pedro community.

Working with the One San Pedro Collaborative, a development joint venture (“Development Team”) comprised of Century Housing Corporation, National CORE, and The Richman Group, the Director will help to establish One San Pedro, Inc., a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to maximize the collective energies of all Rancho San Pedro stakeholders for the benefit of all residents of this planned community. This includes low income and other working families, seniors, veterans, those living with disabilities and those persons with a history of homelessness. The Director will help to activate a new office in downtown San Pedro and foster working and beneficial alliances with key stakeholders including: Rancho San Pedro residents, San Pedro residents, nonprofit partners, HACLA, the business community, elected officials, and others.

The candidate must be equipped with the leadership and skills necessary to build the backbone of One San Pedro and institutionalize the core elements of the collective impact approach including: the establishment of a common agenda with all stakeholders; the development of shared measurements; the development of platforms for continuous and timely communication; the establishment and implementation of joint plans of action, and the mobilization of funding on behalf of OSP.
